PROJECT NAME: More Transparent, Stronger NGO
PROJECT PERIOD: 01.04.2019 – 31.07.2020
PROJECT DONOR NAME AND NUMBER: Central Finance and Contracts Unit – TR2015/DG/01/A3-01/382
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This 16-month project aimed to enhance the management and planning capacities, as well as communication and advocacy skills, of 50 NGOs operating in various fields in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. Instead of daily, narrow, and short-term activities, the focus was on enabling these NGOs to carry out their work based on needs-driven, long-term goal- and outcome-oriented strategies.
Within the scope of the project, Strategic Planning Trainings were provided to help the target NGOs assess their financial, human, and management capacities, analyze their relationships and communications with stakeholders in their fields, and develop strong strategic objectives and activities aimed at their target audiences. Through local and online meetings, each NGO prepared its own two-year strategic plan.
To develop NGOs’ abilities to influence a broader organizational environment, establish partnerships, and improve advocacy skills, a network was established with the active participation of NGOs, adopting the principle “Our differences are our richness.” The network’s mission is to strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations operating and networked in the Southeastern Anatolia Region and to ensure their participation in decision-making mechanisms.
