Volunteer Program Information Note

At Hayata Gülümse Association, we see our volunteers not merely as supporters, but as active partners in creating social impact. We aim to offer meaningful and impact-driven experiences to individuals from diverse backgrounds, skills, and interests.

What Does Volunteering Offer?

Volunteering is not only about contributing, but also about self-discovery, developing social sensitivity, and gaining new skills. Our volunteers:

• Gain hands-on field experience,
• Get an insider’s perspective into the NGO world,
• Expand their network and meet new people,
• Actively contribute to social transformation.

Program Structure and Timeline

Our volunteer programs run throughout the year and are structured in either periodic or continuous formats:

• Tıme commitment: Applicants are expected to dedicate a minimum of 4 weeks
• Weekly participation: 2 days (approximately 10–12 hours)
• Format: In-person (Ankara) and/or remote (online)
• Eligibility: Applicants must be 18 years old or older and submit a strong motivation letter demonstrating their interest and commitment to the role

Volunteer Areas

Based on the preferences stated in the application form, volunteers may be assigned to the following areas:

• Communication & visibility: Social media, content creation, graphic design
• Education & event support: Workshop facilitation, material development
• Office support: Reporting, data entry, translation
• Fieldwork: Surveys, observation, coordination
• Expert contribution: Legal, psychological, environmental, human rights consultancy

How Does the Process Work?

1. Application: Through the form available on our Volunteer Page
2. Evaluation & Interview: Short interviews are conducted with eligible candidates
3. Matching & Planning: Roles, schedule, and needs are clarified together
4. Orientation: Volunteers are informed about our structure, ethics, and principles
5. Process Management: Continuous mentoring, support, and feedback are provided

What We Provide

• Clear role descriptions and guidance
• Participation certificate and/or reference letter (upon request)
• Access to internal learning opportunities and workshops
• Direct participation in community development efforts
